This is a new venture; a quest to live a greener life. It will be a place to share my journey and a place for all of us to share how we are doing our bit to reduce our footprint on our planet on the forum.
This is new to me, which is why I want to share what I learn along the way. Despite all of our technological advances, as the great philosopher Kermit the Frog once said ‘it’s not easy being green’. But it should be easy, and I want to make it easier for everyone. Our throw away culture has gone too far and we can’t go on as we have.
What can you expect from me?
- Honesty – I’m not perfect, I’m not living the greenest life I could be, but that’s why I’m here and why I want to share my journey and hopefully inspire others to join me
- Positivity – the truth about the destruction of our planet is horrifying, we can’t get away from that, but while I will share the facts, I’m not going to share horrible images and videos. Sometimes a shock is what you need to spur you to action, but I believe in sharing the positive change you can make.
- Reality – Bea Johnson is a pioneer of the zero waste lifestyle, and she has written a great book called Zero Waste Home all about how her and her family have managed to go completely zero waste. It’s incredible and very impressive, but is it realistic? I would say probably not. So I want to share what we can all realistically do, alongside our busy lives and on a budget.
- Passion – I believe in this. I hope my passion comes through and inspires you to join in.
So join me, share your ideas and tips. I want to create a movement, I want us all to realise that it can be easy to be green.
I’m excited – are you?
